Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc

Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc is recognized as the best Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. In a region famous for this distinctive varietal, it is a significant honor to have received the Trophy for Champion Sauvignon Blanc. The Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc has consistently maintained a reputation for excellence since it first won the Trophy for wine at the New Zealand Wine Awards in 1991. This white wine has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 12.5%. Sourced from family vineyards throughout the Marlborough region, the grapes were harvested in the excellent morning hours, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After blending, the wine was allowed to settle on light lees before being bottled at the Wairau River Estate. The wine exhibits intense lifted aromas of ripe tropical fruits and citrus on the nose. It is refined and elegant, showcasing a finely textured palate with guava and stone fruit flavors. Overall, it is wonderfully expressive with a fresh, dry finish.
